Unity Hack Week, Nyborg

For several years in a row, Event Republic has organized Hack Week for the tech company Unity.

Hack Week 2018 lasted for 6 days at Hotel Nyborg Strand, with 750 participants X2 flown in from all over the world. Event Republic was responsible for everything including logistics, planning and project management as well as organizing a big closing dinner and party on the last day before departure.

Purpose: All employees had to work intensively on self-selected projects, in groups with colleagues from all over the world, to create new inspiration and creativity and share the passion for the work across all groups. Throughout the week they worked on a creative solution based on Unity’s programming tool.

Solution: We took the employees to Nyborg Strand, where there was the opportunity for full immersion in the work, without disturbances of any kind. Here they worked and played around the clock, and with Nyborg’s idyllic surroundings and opportunities for various indoor and outdoor activities, we created a Unity identity at the hotel that could be felt throughout the week.

The result: The entire event had created great satisfaction in the group – in fact, the highest measured for the company’s events. This is a result we are very proud of, as we were dealing with guests who are used to being flown around the world for events like this.
